strat view during h2h test campaign

Close Combat: Gateway to Caen is the latest release in the critically-acclaimed Close Combat series and focuses on the largest, concentrated British offensive since the Normandy landings in an attempt to penetrate the German lines west of Caen and cross the Odon River to get the stalled advance moving again.

Conrad mana doesn't like to rest at night. Here's a quick look at the strategic map view of a test GC in progress:

So in the end it looks like those cats are surrounded and about to be skinned

It looks that way. In fact, the 214 Brigade had just moved onto the map at the same time as the Panther Kompanie, so it became a cat-and-mouse game of running around in the dark. He could not see my infantry at all due to the darkness and all the cover on the map. In the end, he captured the VLs to Point 100, Colleville, and Haut du Bosq, and kept his supply VL to Skyline. I only managed to bag one Panther and lost an AT gun in the process.

Thanks for the preview!

The new strat icons look good.

Noticed a hill icon. But what is the blue/red flags for as it can't ownership since Colleville looks like a contested map or meeting engagement?

The new strategic map is looking good. Better unit identifiers than the NATO version. And I must say there's a little more
detail to both this map and the mini map. Good work and thanks as always.

Thanks!

The red and blue markers indicate strong points and objectives. These are cosmetic and represent historical data from Operation Epsom.

Well I see all battle groups have the strength of a battalion (not including those cats) which means if I'm not mistaken 12 units? Is this something common?
How many turns for each day? More than five turns?

In the beginning of the campaign most of the units are battalion-sized. As the campaign progresses both Germans and British will receive some larger, native BGs (2+ battalions). Also, there is always the option to combine BGs. The campaign maps was created to give a battalion-sized scale for most battles. Note on the screen above that there is one brigade BG (British) in Cheux.

Edit: yes, five turns per day except for the first (4 turns).

Small suggestion; can you move the overlay graphic on BG morale/strength/etc.to the corner of the BG icon to not cover the unit type images? It's a couple X/Y values from the center of the overlay looking with Mafi's BED9 tool and you don't want to cover those tank graphics....

8 companies or more in a BG = 21 available for battle
