Red Effect

The new Cold War turned hot wargame from On Target Simulations, now expanded with the Player's Edition! Choose the NATO or Soviet forces in one of many scenarios or two linked campaigns. No effort was spared to model modern warfare realistically, including armor, infantry, helicopters, air support, artillery, electronic warfare, chemical and nuclear weapons. An innovative new asynchronous turn order means that OODA loops and various effects on C3 are accurately modeled as never before.

Red Effect

Post by Bipman »

Not sure if this has been mentioned before but I am just reading the second in the series of three books by Harvey Black :- "The Red Effect", "The Black Effect" and "The Blue Effect" which pretty much covers a Soviet invasion of Europe via the Fulda Gap in the 80's and is a damn good read for anyone interested in this era. It seems pretty realistic and I find it hard to put the book down so can recommend it fully.

To return the favor - I assume you have read them but in case - Team Yankee and Red Storm Rising are two great books on the subject.
