SPM development update 31/03/2014

Post by Nacho84 »

Hello all,

I hope you're well. Just a quick update on the development for the next patch for SPM (version 0.7.16): we made quite a bunch of progress during the weekend, mainly by tyding up all the loose ends required in order to get a stable build. We've added lots of new programs, missions, components and goals during the past weeks but we didn't have enough time to create all the images for them, so you'll see some "placeholder" images here and there (see the screenshots). The images will be replaced in the upcoming builds. However, you should be able to test the game just as fine :)

I've made an interim build this morning, which I've sent to Iain so that we can start some internal playtesting. I still need to add the goal dependencies for the new missions in the spreadsheet, which I will do during this week while also fixing any bugs reported regarding the interim build. If everything goes well, I'll be uploading SPM 0.7.16 for you to try out very soon!

In the other departments, Mauricio is busy making new renders for the Soviet missions and Boris has been making lots of progress in the NASA space complex. I'm attaching some screenshots for you to peruse.

Feel free to ask any questions and I'll try to address them as soon as I can.

Cheers,

Great to see we are getting closer> 'soon' changed to 'very soon' !

(although I do think the word 'soon' should be banned from games developer's reports) [:D]

I think the Nasa spacecentre needs lots more flag posts, and those roads dont look wide enough for American cars [:D]

Hello guys,

A quick update on the next build: we sent an interim build to Slitherine a few days ago and they got back to us with some comments regarding the usability of the new screens, which we have addressed during the week (plus some other fixes along the way). I'm currently sending Slitherine another interim build so that they can give us some more feedback. In the meantime we'll spend some more time tweaking the game's database and tidying up some assets. We'll keep you posted [:)]
