Weapon Magically Appears

Post by AdmiralSteve »

Possible bug involves my own scenario "Regime Collapse." Soviet side engages Turkish surface vessel with SS-N-14 Silex that apparently misses. Suddenly a AT-3 torpedo shows up that is attached to the Soviet side and begins to seek a target around Turkish surface vessel yet never finds one.
Save is included that is after the torpedo's appear.
Thanks, Steve
>>>EDIT<<<Apparently this is a dual weapon that acts initially like a SSM then ends as a torpedo? Is this for real?

The missile carries an underslung anti-submarine torpedo which it drops immediately above the suspected position of a submarine. The torpedo then proceeds to search and then home in on the submarine.

So, it's working as it should be.

Yes and this weapon was honestly a challenge to implement because of its nature.

It was quite the challenge to believe that it was even a real weapon. Thank you guys.

I think US was planning on similar weapon, called Sea Lance.

Wasn't this in the game Red Storm Rising? Seem to remember it being there.

Yes, it was available to the player in the 1992 and 1996 timeframes.
