How is the sceanrio editor

Post by ETF »

Looking to use this program as an operational map (for Combat Mission) via the scenario editor. Then complete battles using Combat Mission for tactical battles. Would that be possible? Could one move their units around on the map within the scenario editor and then save each turn? Is there an option to hide enemy units within the scenario editor?
Thanks

You can't hide units in the scenario editor, but you can build the scenario on a turn by turn basis and the open it up in the game with fog of war turned on.

Ok thank you.

Could one then with the FOW on "in game" move units. How is combat initiated? Do the units engage at range automatically or do they have to be within one hex and ordered to attack with the player using the UI.

Oh and what is the scale of the units/counters/stands?

Units are platoons, hexes are 250m.

You can create scenarios as big as your imagination.

Line of Sight is important, as is range. Every unit will have a different range and different attack/defence values at both soft and hard targets.

Here is an introduction to how it looks, from a design standpoint.
