Counter Invasion Forces - OZ

Post by Xargun »

I am invading OZ in my current PBeM and am looking to see how far I can go without triggering the Counter Invasion Forces. The manual says Southern Australia. Can someone shed some light with a bit more precision please ?

I believe they are simulating the infamous "Brisbane line". Australia said they wouldn't put up a major all out defense till that line was crossed. So go to Brisbane , then head due west. There it be. [:D] But seriously maybe one of the dev's will chime in. [&:][:)]

Watch out if you're marching on that line east-west, or west-east. Pathing algorithms can cause you to move south of the line by one hex...

I'd have to check my records to be 100%, but I'm 95% sure it's an east-west line on the X-axis, running one hex south of Brisbane.

Be careful to use the x,y coordinates only. The game map's projection makes Oz sway-backed. You will get into trouble eyeballing that line, especially in the far west of the country.

OK - I don't plan on going that far south but wanted to know where the farthest I could go without getting into trouble was. Thanks

The documentation is vague on purpose.

If only it were possible to build in a few hexes of uncertainty in this line!
