Hi,

I have, mostly impatiently awaited this gem of a game for many years, and I love it!

Is there a way to change the voice overs in game? I surely would like to mod the little German taking sequences in game to a more appropriate and..., well German tongue.

How would I go about it, please?

If I succeed I certainly would like to share this in the forums as a voice-mod.

Thanks much,

Himmel

The voices are .ogg files in the sounds/VO directories, the filenames should tell you which is which pretty much.

ah, so all I have to do is record in .ogg files and switch them out with the appropriate file-name, while deleting (or taking out) original files. Sry, never done stuff like that before...[:)]

himmelstoss, chemkid and whoever might be interested,

I am German who speaks(reads, writes) and my wife is Lithuanian who can speak,(read and write) Russian. Between us we've "re-created" most of the German and Russian Voice files in .ogg format for this game.

Some files are not exact translations, but come close to the point and are certainly more realistic.(Dad was a German Soldier in Russia and he would know).
Sorry, no Romanian voice-overs-yet, but working on them.

I am now experimenting on how to use Dropbox for the SOUNDS\VO\RUSSIAN & GERMAN folders. If this works, then download and enjoy -if not, E-mail me at a.riewe@att.com and I'll send you the file.

Hi,acropora

I don't know what Tom will tell you, but I think you need a soundfile
converter to change from .wav to .ogg.
I bought one on line from www.ogg-wav.com for a reasonable price.
Hope this helps...

Acropora,
I think you should buy the .ogg to .wav program on line as I did
from the adresse I posted; not only does it convert .wav to .ogg,
but it can also convert MP3,MP4,WMA,AMR and AAC files(forIPODs\tunes).It's very easy to use.

The reasons I say this is that I am frequently very busy and can't
be reached or don't have time and you might get impatient with me_
I'm very sorry

I think you could find such a program for free, typically a freeware program [;)]
