New Update v 4.6.276 is available

Command Ops: Battles From The Bulge takes the highly acclaimed Airborne Assault engine back to the West Front for the crucial engagements during the Ardennes Offensive. Test your command skills in the fiery crucible of Airborne Assault’s “pausable continuous time” uber-realistic game engine. It's up to you to develop the strategy, issue the orders, set the pace, and try to win the laurels of victory in the cold, shadowy Ardennes.
Command Ops: Highway to the Reich brings us to the setting of one of the most epic and controversial battles of World War II: Operation Market-Garden, covering every major engagement along Hell’s Highway, from the surprise capture of Joe’s Bridge by the Irish Guards a week before the offensive to the final battles on “The Island” south of Arnhem.

Sweet! And thanks for the FTP, but the link seems to be broken. For me, at least.

It's a beta build and the in game update check only works for official released patches.

Re the members download. You need to contact Matrix support.

Fixes:
  • Mods to depot and fire basing code to prevent game hanging due to excessive processing of control grids. This was a downstream effect of the previous change that increased the fidelity of control grids from 1km to 100m.
  • Fixed Formation lockup in Road Column formation. Now the advance guard won't be waiting for an infinitely long time for the task boss to move forward (and the other way around) - sorry fro erroneously reporting this for the previous build.)
  • Fixed problem with map caches filenames getting the path to the Maps folder prepended twice.

The order cancellation bug is still present in Move and Defend orders: even artillery on call now and then forgets to be on call.

Please, don't take offence Dave (you should know well how much I love this system!), but, since I play with Painfully Realistic Orders Delay, this inconvenience is somewhat hard for me. You know: losing a couple of hours every time with a regiment can be disheartening.

Are you sure you are not able or willing to remove it?

Apart that, the game seems much better now. My compliments!

Renato,

No problems. I need a save, preferably just before it arrives at the location and also a screen dump taken later when it goes on hold highlighting which unit(s), the type of order you originally gave to it and the time it goes hold or thereabouts.

Renato,

Just took a look at both examples thanks.

First off and this is for everyone. To make my life a little easier could you please include a link to the relevant post within these forums when you send me a save. It helps save me time trying to find the discussion. Thanks.

Now in the first example concerning the 1.751 VG Bn. I can see that the Bn is going on hold but I have no prior save taken just after the issue of orders and prior to them going on hold. Without the ability to step into the decision making process I cannot ascertain the casue of the problem. Do you have a prior save?

Re the 1.326 Arty Bn. While the arty in the second example you gave is on hold it's actual unit task is on call support. So it's still providing support. As to why it went on hold I cannot tell. I need a prior save.

Unfortunately I haven't any prior save. I understand the difficulty to pin down the problem and shall try with some other example when possible.
