Warsaw Pact Countries

The new Cold War turned hot wargame from On Target Simulations, now expanded with the Player's Edition! Choose the NATO or Soviet forces in one of many scenarios or two linked campaigns. No effort was spared to model modern warfare realistically, including armor, infantry, helicopters, air support, artillery, electronic warfare, chemical and nuclear weapons. An innovative new asynchronous turn order means that OODA loops and various effects on C3 are accurately modeled as never before.

Warsaw Pact Countries

Post by z1812 »

We have the British, Americans, and West Germans on the NATO side.

Are there plans to differentiate some of the Warsaw Pact forces such as East Germany and Poland.

It would make for more ambience. Especially if those units could be used red on red to represent some WP forces coming to the NATO side.

We are in both internal and external (Matrix) talks with what we are doing next and how and when to do it. The current plan on the table is to break out of heavy updates when 2.05 deploys so we can focus on a Red Storm expansion with more countries, scenarios, etc. We were going to do that in two releases but now the thought is one. We were looking at adding East Germany, Czechoslovakia, France, and Canada in the old first pack, but we will also add Poland, Netherlands, Belgium, and Denmark. We may still change some of that around. We will also focus on the game engine work for 2.1 and the Far East Module.

Many things are still up in the air and there are no dates or even estimates right now. Once we start firming up the roadmap we can chat more about timing and content details.

Are you considering the above?

Easy to do. Just copy a data folder with a new name like British-Red, go into the User data file change the Country Name to British-Red and change the side to Red and they will show as a side two selection. We won't be doing that, but you guys can. [;)]

I didn't even think about doing that. I went into the user data base file, made the change that the Capn recommended, saved it under a new name and I can now play the British as red. With the 2.03 patch you can also customize the counter so you could have British on British with both sides having unique counters.

I did a US Russia flip a while back to test arty from the other side to see if there was a side specific issue. Thankfully there wasn't, but it shows the flexibility of the data and the game engine.
