Germany at War Demo, Sale and 1.04 Update!

Germany At War: Operation Barbarossa 1941 is an elegant turn-based design, inspired by classics such as Panzer General, but with more of a historical focus. You command the German forces through a branching historical campaign covering the entire 1941 campaign as well as part of the 1942 campaign. Dozens of scenarios stretch from the Soviet border all the way to Archangel and towards Astrakhan, the original military goals of Operation Barbarossa. Step into a wargame where your performance will rewrite history, through an addictive combination of compelling gameplay, realistic events and challenging battles.

Germany at War Demo, Sale and 1.04 Update!

Post by Erik Rutins »

Hi guys,

we're pleased to announce that Germany at War now has a demo, is available in German and is only $19.99 to celebrate the launch of the demo!

Germany at War, released on the 25th of July last year, was immediately praised by the specialist press as “impressive” and “sophisticated” – GamersHall.de. Developer Phobetor’s effort to create something truly different and innovative, including many new elements of realism, and focusing on historical accuracy, didn’t go without notice.

Specialist Wargames site said: “This new game throws in real history with useful innovations. The result is spectacular. Phobetor deserves a large amount of praise for their game and encouragement to make a grand series from it”.

Now it’s time for Germany at War to step onto the computers of even more strategy buffs, with the release of a demo and new version translated and adapted for German speaking countries.

The game also gets a patch, v 1.04, which introduces a script editing tool for campaigns and scenarios, adds many new units for the Soviet Union, Germany and Finland, and a load of other stuff. To download the patch, follow the link.

To know more about Germany at War: Barbarossa 1941, check out the product page.

Guys - Just want to make sure this is my computer acting up and not a general problem. I've got Winxp sp3, amd 6 core and Nividia
video card. I downloaded the demo now 4 times yesterday from two different mirrors using both IE8 and google chrome - the download finishes and verifies- then I can't get it to unzip or extract (using 7-zip.

Can someone else verify theirs has downloaded normally and opened yesterday or today? Then I'll look farther into my own computer for the problem.

FWIW I just downloaded the demo from Gamers Hell and it unzipped and installed fine. Fired it up just long enough to verify it would run.

With the exception of the Scourge of War series, I only buy games that can be played PBEM. I'm wondering if the demo has the PBEM option activated. Thanks.

My anti-virus tried to block the download. I had to disable some of the functions to get the game to download. I've been playing for the last couple of days and really enjoying the game! Great job Ron! Viel Spass!

played the demo, 30 mins later bought the game :)

need i say more.

if you love war games, or any type of sims etc, this is the place to be. a fps might give instant fun but these type of games last years, easy to play, but never so easy to beat and master.

learning curve is excellent, AI is very good, missions and campaigns are well designed.

manual is very good, support is top class
