Public Beta Build 4.6.269

Command Ops: Battles From The Bulge takes the highly acclaimed Airborne Assault engine back to the West Front for the crucial engagements during the Ardennes Offensive. Test your command skills in the fiery crucible of Airborne Assault’s “pausable continuous time” uber-realistic game engine. It's up to you to develop the strategy, issue the orders, set the pace, and try to win the laurels of victory in the cold, shadowy Ardennes.
Command Ops: Highway to the Reich brings us to the setting of one of the most epic and controversial battles of World War II: Operation Market-Garden, covering every major engagement along Hell’s Highway, from the surprise capture of Joe’s Bridge by the Irish Guards a week before the offensive to the final battles on “The Island” south of Arnhem.

Public Beta Build 4.6.269

Post by Arjuna »

Hi all,

Just to give you a heads up, I have finished uploading the new beta build to Matrix. They have to do stuff before it can be made available to you. But stay posted over the coming days. It will be available from the Members Area. Tomorrow I'll post a list of changes.

Please lets hope this is the one that tidies everything up and puts the game out to a happy pasture so work can start on the future titles in earnest:)

Well, now that I've gotten bitten by the Eastern Front interest, Jason, I'm more inclined to agree with you. I want that EF CO game too! And CO engine 2, with everything that's been mooted. And before that - the med pack!

I think we're already essentially at that point. So long as the patch doesn't break anything I'll take any improvements as a bonus.

Are the beta patches cumulative like the official versions?? Or do they need to be applied individually in the correct order??

Thanks,

Rob.
So we're at war with the Russkies eh?? I suppose we really ought to invade or something. (Lonnnng pause while studying the map)

When it does get posted, can you request the FTP site as well?
Some of us have NEVER been able to use the standard Matrix downloader.
Thanks!

Do you guys know when the new patch will be ready for members download?

Looking forward to playing, I bought this at Christmas and have been waiting for the new patch before diving in :)

Hate to say it, but the patch after next may already be bubbling in the background, and more than likely the Public Beta feedback will inspire discussion of what it is named and when it might be released.

If you wait for all patches to be released you'll never start playing the game.

My suggestion is learn the game until you encounter a problem that was targeted for resolution in 4.6.269 to stop learning.

The patch is addressing less than 1 percent of the code Command Ops uses to deliver a realistic real time operational command and control feel for wargaming.

The changes are nuances to the reality, not show stoppers for enjoying the game and its richness.
Take care,

jim

Thanks for your reply guys, I played HTTR a long time ago (I just remembered how old I am) and Conquest of the Aegean not so long ago, so I know the game system reasonably well.

I came across the supply losses problem in the latter(COTA)and thought it would be better to wait for the Public Beta Build 4.6.269 to play Command ops :)
