[DONE] Red Episodes: No Sandbox No Joy

Post by Meroka37 »

The Kiev and her escort is returning from a support mission in Iceland attack, all her Sandbox SSM are wasted when the group meets a similar enemy formation, without long range SSM the game is quite different...

Looks promising, unfortunately some of my choppers run out of fuel due to buggy Bingo calculation.
Neutrals are playable.
Weather seems to be at default setting, intended?

In the convoy scenario, my planes kept running out of fuel.

Ok thanks, I'll change neutral and weather, it looks there is a problem with Ka-25 fuel calculation, it's already reported in beta forum .

Victory, exchanged my Victor for the Invincible. If all you wanna do is avoid them you have an easy day, they never find you as long as you use your radar sparingly.
Were those Sea King AEW on a mission? Never heard from them. Nato has a hard time finding the SAG without Active Radar.

I played it again and was less lucky, the UK SAG spawned right in front of me and the Harrier spotted my fleet. However even though they knew where iam their ships show strange behavior, they fiddle around on different courses instead of steaming straight for me. AI has problems arranging their formation.
It amazes me that many russian shipborne aircraft had no RWR.

From a scenario design point of view, i wonder if it would make sense to have several random spawn points be relative to the target fleet, over a additional game logic side.
If that works one could have a higher probability of being found and yet have different random spawn points to have a different scenario every time, making it more re-playable.
Don't know if that makes sense, i will try to make an example mission.
