Question about other war theater in the future.

The new Cold War turned hot wargame from On Target Simulations, now expanded with the Player's Edition! Choose the NATO or Soviet forces in one of many scenarios or two linked campaigns. No effort was spared to model modern warfare realistically, including armor, infantry, helicopters, air support, artillery, electronic warfare, chemical and nuclear weapons. An innovative new asynchronous turn order means that OODA loops and various effects on C3 are accurately modeled as never before.

Question about other war theater in the future.

Post by Charly G »

I'm not very interested by potential conflict between East and West. I will prefer other period of war. (Vietnam for example).
I would like to know if any other period of war will be created in the future by a new game or by DLC/ Add ons.
Thanks

The next game in the series will be a factual war. The theater and action will be set in the WWII scale. Korea and Vietnam both would be at the WWII scale and the maps will be at that scale as well. I did just find a source for the PRC today for 1984 time frame.

We are currently working on a Vietnam location map in the scenarios/mods folder. We will be heading someplace where the smoke will get in your eyes!!

Reminds me, Wargame Airland Batttle Red Dragon has China and N. Korea covered in their next click fest. They just posted a new teaser video out, it sure is purdy.
Makes me wonder if any of the RTS folks bought that and then checked out this real deal you folks made? Have a feeling they may not all be wargamers though.

Our Vietnam/WWII/Korea/Falklands/Small Actions part of the series will be done in a map scale of 250 meters per hex.

I could see sand being involved in a place or two.

Vietnam does not have sand in battles, unless a scenario will be China Beach (Bac My An).[:D]

The very first major US operation of the war included a USMC invasion from the sea. Yes, beaches have sand but so do rivers. The USMC can't play without sand and water! [:D]

The first major operation wasn't a real beach landing. Was more of a stroll on the beach. Vietnamese Girls with flowers welcoming the marines as the came on land.

Bur you are right where there are marines there is sand.

Operation Starlite was far from a walk in the park. I wasn't talking about when the Marines landed but the first major operation of the war.

Oh sorry, I thought you really did mean the landings, that was a real embarasment.
I apologize. I should have known better and realized that you meant a real operation.

When we get to Vietnam I'm sure you'll get a chance to try that first operation. I would think it would make the list of those of interest.

Any battle or campaign settings in the Pacific Rim would be heavily influenced by sand and water. Marines of most nations, airmobile operations, and extremely intense infantry combat. All at the new 250 meter per hex scale.
