cant bomb planets or am i the only one ?

Ships need to have bombardment weapons fitted.

i have a ship with nuclear devastator that should be enought right ?

Another couple of things to consider.

1. If the planet has shields, I don't think nuclear devastators will get through it.
2. Am I correct in thinking that to bomb a planet you need to ctrl-right click then select bomb? In other words just right clicking to attack will not result in bombing. Next time I load up the game, I'll double check this.

Yes you have to right click and select bombard.
