Aegean conflict?

Hi guys - hope everyone survived the holidays,

I was wondering if anybody has been able to find a modern or near modern Aegean conflict? I've been searching but so far.... no dice. If not a pure Aegean has anyone seen a larger Mediterranean conflict that could be pruned down maybe?

You can have a "religious war" the Orthodox counties fighting the Turks, wanting to reclaim Constantinople and settling old scores.
