Box (Physical Copy) Smashed on Arrival

Post by Citizen Emperor »

A question...

My very first order from Matrix (Crown of Glory: Emperor's Edition) and THE PLASTIC BOX IS SMASHED TO PIECES.

Fortunately the disc, printed manual and cover sleeve are okay.

According to Matrix's TOS, sales of physical copies are "final".

But I don't need the disc replaced... I just need a new plastic box!!!

Can I get a replacement?

From where? Got a link for this specific kind of box?

This isn't the standard DVD keepcase one can easily find online...

Thats horrible. I have often gotten the boxesd games from Matrix with a panel of the box broken off, but i have just presumed it was the postal service at fault, but it is only ever the matrix boxes that are damaged

According to Matrix's TOS, sales of physical copies are "final".

Just being curious, what does "final" mean in this context? Does it mean that when you receive a broken package, you're bust?

An epic story about a cracked CD case, and it has to be replaced by the same exact one. I was biting my toenails.

I contacted the Help Desk and got a swift response.

Phew that was close. I love happy endings.

Well, it is a WARgame. Every wargame is bound to arrive with at least a few mortar craters and dirty scuff marks.

Just be glad your copy didn't arrive with a hundred screaming Hussars bursting out from the packaging. Your day would not have gone well.

I don't feel it is a matter to be taken lightly. Improper preparation for mailing often results in unhappy customers. Plimus ought to ship games in cardboard boxes, or at least cardboard sleeves for adequate protection. Bubble wrap doesn't help much when a plastic case containing a PC game is caught up in a machine and is bent and broken.

The copy of Panzer Corps: Afrika Korps I ordered from Plimus arrived today. Its case was also damaged.

Same thing happened to me with my tester's copy of CCMT. The boxes need to be secured better.

Cant complain much about damaged game cases.
I ordered a logitech headset for gaming, the company had 1 last set without package on special price. They sent it in a Jiffy bag. Guess what? Yep the heatset was damaged, they did send me a refund. But I thought how mental can they be.

I have purchased many games from Matrix. I do both, because I always want the CD. I've never had a problem.

Lucky you.

After I thought the matter was resolved and the replacement plastic case was on its way, it has never showed up.

We do package them with protection and we've never had an issues with orders dispatched here (from the US) but it seems some local postal services are just trying to destroy the mail. If you do get a broken case just contact support and we'll arrange to have a new ones sent to you.

I have contacted support and was told I would receive a new case, but that was over a month ago and I haven't received it yet.

The case of the game I received that was damaged is cheap; very thin plastic. It wouldn't take much to damage it, and if I were to ship something as susceptible to damage as it is, I would place it in a cardboard shipping carton prior to shipment to prevent damage. A bubble wrapped envelope does not provide adequate protection for something so fragile.
