Idiotic questions regarding extra scenarios

Post by Lonewolf »

After finally finished a WITP:AE campaign as Allies playing against the Japanese AI. I have played few of the smaller scenarios like Guadalcanal, Marianas, Mountbattens Folly, Wake. All of these seems to work with the stock game with all patches as per: http://www.matrixgames.com/products/351/downloads/

Now I am itching to play another grand campaign with a twist against the AI again. Looking at the scenarios thread: tm.asp?m=3088504 I am extremely confused as to which of these various mods are for. Here are my questions:

- Using the stock maps/data against AI: what extra scenarios I can play? As either side as AI.
- The DaBabes stuff: Can the Extended Map use for the old scenarios? Or do I need to download another set for it?
- What do I need for those "weird" scenarios such as Axis Aflame, War in the West, etc? Can I use the stock map/data?

Please enlighten me on this. [:)]

If limiting yourself to the stock map a bunch of Mods will have issues. Da Babes and RA work with the Extended Map and Stacking Limits.

If I get the Extended Maps, will the original (stock) scenarios work?

Do I get the Extended Maps from here: https://sites.google.com/site/dababeswitpae/map-and-art

Best to click Symon/JWE's hot link to Da Babes site. The extended map is there. I know Da Babes has Scenario 1 and Scenario 2 Mods using that map as well as Stacking Limits.

No, the stock scenarios will not work on extended maps.

IMVHO, save another copy of the game and title it EXTENDED MAP SCENARIOS
Save any mods using extended maps here.

You need a second save as you will overwrite the map data required for the extended map & stacking limits.

As JeffK says. I have 4-5 different installs. Very handy.

What extra scenarios out there will work with the stock maps / graphics?

While extended maps and order of battle are nice, however each game (even vs the AI) takes a long [>:] long time to finish. I play frequently enough and yet takes me from mid July to 2 days ago to finish WW2 as Allies. Lots of work initially and not so much towards the end as Allies are drowned with resources and ships.
