Naming storms doesn't really work in Europe. That storm has had something like half a dozen different names so far.

Geoff is referring to the incorrect use of "reeks," which means "smelling terrible or awful." Reek is a homonym of "wreak," which is what the author meant to use.

I'm sure the headline writer was not the story reporter, headline writers are notorious for making big boo-boos like that.

My father has said his home town newspaper was notorious for flubbing headlines. His father subscribed to the paper just for a good laugh when they screwed up.

Personally, I appreciate the art of headline writers when they intentionally cram a bunch of words with the same first letter into a headline. Just so they can. "Storm Slams South! Supernumerary Spaniards Seek Shelter!"
