* The map-cursor databox (a.k.a. Black Box of Data) can now be configured to appear beside the cursor (as currently), appear on the bottom of the map, or not appear at all. This is set by Game -> Game Options -> "Map Cursor Databox", and is a global (not scenario/side-level), persisting setting.

* New game option: Reference point visibility. Three settings are available: Normal (as currently), Small (half-size and grayed out), and Don't Show. This significantly declutters the map in cases of dense ref-point concentrations.

* You can now set the activation time for a mission through the mission editor.

* Delay-timed missions are displayed in the mission editor with a "[D]" prefix.

* "Hold Position" command added to right-click menu for mobile ground units.

* You can now select a new home base for multiple-selected aircraft.

* You can now edit aircraft names and delete specific aircraft directly through the Air-Ops window.

* New doctrine option: Use SAMs in anti-surface mode (or not).

* Refined acoustic reverberation modifiers for sonars. Now the sonar's tech level (more modern sets are affected less) and operating frequency (lower-frequency sets suffer the most) also play a part in determining degradation due to reverberation from shallow water or under-ice conditions.

* Strategic submarines now actively evade not only weapon contacts but also potential sub & surface threats in proximity.

* New imports by Rudd: ROK & DPRK complete EW + AD installations 2003-2013.

RE: v1.02 Release Candidate thread

Post by SSN754planker »

Just downloaded and installed. Playing "sakhalin or Karafuto" as i type this.

The "black box of data." I LOVE it being in the lower right corner. It just feels like that's where it should have been all along.

The reference points. I know i probably have been the one screaming for the option to hide reference points the loudest, and i can say thank you for providing the option. I actually kind of like the "smaller" option. It looks more "professional" to me if that makes sense. I am noticing when you drag the reference points around now they seem to not drag as smooth as they had been doing in previous builds. The ONLY gripe i have with the way you have implemented it is i wish the toggle for it was in the "Missions + ref. Points menu instead of in the "game>game options" menu. It would make it easier to access.

Other than that, looks amazing.

Think we'll probably do a whole list at release depending on time and effort but we also will be following up with a manual update well after the patch is released. Lot of writing and updating as the changes since Mk. 1 are numerous.

Great job on the release all ye devs!

Might be time to have a break and do some Xmas shopping :)

Especially happy about the black data box being configurable, but many worthwhile and important improvements beyond that.
Be nice.

From the air-ops window, select the aircraft and click on the "Rename" button. (It is visible only in ScenEdit mode).

RE: v1.02 Release Candidate thread, little bug with inactive missions

Post by hamlet »

Just started the Basic Training: Air Operations from scratch.

Did not start the Scenario, began to create missions and set them to inactive as I want to start them manually at certain Points in time during the Scenario.

As soon as I start the time, all inactive missions get active, logged as Mission: XXX has been activated. I never opened or set the Activation time but suspect that it is related to that addition to the game. If I set the mission to inactive again, they become active again immediately as Long as the time is not stopped.

This was introduced after the last beta.

BTW: Super game, Command rocks.
