Strategic war in Europe - mouse cursor dissapears

Just bought this game, running on Win8 the mouse cursor dissapears when the game starts. Any tips for fixing this issue? I managed to check windowed mode in settings, then the mouse coursor shows, but game is not playable for me in windowed mode.

By the way, anyone know of any issues like this i Win8 for the game Commander - the great war?
