a question about naval warfare

Post by Wasicun »

Hi all guys!
How good is this game? I really love it!

But i am a noob, and i have a lot of questions.

What is the best anti-naval ship (excluding aircraft carrier) for the US?

I tried some Arleigh Burke class destroyers, but i don't understand why they aren't full of harpoons, and why they carry a lot of RIMs (ok antiair defense is important too...)

How can Americans in the real world sink enemy ships?

I am not able to sink 3rd world ships like frigates because they have a lot of long range antinaval missiles (like exocet) and they over range my american destroyers...

maybe i do something wrong with sensors (i usually turn everything on)...

Come on guys, tell me what is your strategy (or a good link to tips)

Thank you very much and sorry for my poor English.

Not the Arleigh Burkes mission right now. They are Air Defence destroyers with a secondary land strike role right now. The US navy still projects power at sea using its CVBG's.

The primary strike platforms of the US Navy are carrier aircraft. Destroyers etc are primarily escorts.
Things will change a bit with the introduction of LRASM, as for the first time since TASM the US destroyers will have a vertically launched anti-ship missile.
But I guess it might be shipped in the numbers VL Asroc is, as it uses the same booster.

Yeah, like the others said the U.S. Navy is sadly lacking a heavy ASuW presence right now except for Air attack doctrine...so the real answer would probably be Virginia Class, Los Angeles Class and Seawolf Class Submarines.

You could always add some harpoons yourself to the ships in the editor side [:D]
