Fog of war?

Post by wolf14455 »

I about to by this game tommorow and cant wait until then to ask this simple question. Are there any fog of war built in after it became a computer game? Like, secret build or line of sight viewing. With air recon, sea patrol and such.

No changes in fog of war. You can see all counters on the map, etc.

The only real fog of war is the US Entry and any non-agression pact chit draws.

Often you are so busy doing your own production that you don't notice what the opposition is building until the next turn or even until it arrives on the board as reinforcements.

Edit: The game has always had an "intrinsic" fog of war in that although you can see all the enemy forces, you don't know what they'll try to do with them until it happens.

I'd like to think Steve could consider a modest FOW optional rule down the road. Yes, still be able to see the counters but some specific information about some counters beyond friendly unit spotting ranges could be hidden; e.g., unit ID, unit strength, unit type, etc. Just because you can't really do this with the official boardgame version doesn't mean it couldn't be done with the computer game. As an option, of course. Later, after other stuff gets finished first.

The game is a good base to evolve in for sure.
