The Ultimate Tease for Pandora: First Contact

Post by Philkian »

The horizon of a new 4X frontier is getting closer and closer. As the spaceship is rapidly approaching the new planet, a new hope for mankind, we are getting closer to the release of the long awaited Pandora: First Contact!

Developed by Proxy Studios (www.proxy-studios.com), the game follows in the footsteps of classics like Alpha Centauri and Galactic Civilizations; but it also creates a completely new world of its own, with hundreds of creatures, settings, technological innovations and a never-seen-before range of deadly weapons. In development for more than two years, Pandora: First Contact is something really novel in the genre of civilization-style games.

The game will be available tomorrow, but in the mean time we want to make available the digital version of the game manual. Actually it is a real and proper Lore, with insights, information and the fictional background history of Pandora, its discovery, the human factions and much more.

Download it HERE.

Enjoy reading and get ready for tomorrow’s release of Pandora: First Contact.

That link is not a manual at all. The LINK on the proxy site also has a link called manual. It too is the same thing --- just 100% lore.

Is there a plan for us to see the manual before we purchase?

If not, that is okay. I am just wondering if you guys simply made a mistake and actually wanted us to have access to the manual.

Thanks

PS - I also see the "boob" issue is still there on the one gal.

Hi Balto,

the team decided they wanted a timeless manual and took all of the game specific info in to the in game help and tips system. The problem is they have so many plans that things change so fast a manual cannot be kept up to date so they wanted to just include the story and background.

If you want to learn more about playing the game please see these lets play videos:

In fact the game has changed so much since the manual went to print it would already be out of date! It is a constantly evolving game with a big future ahead of it so this was part of the long term plan.

So in summary it is not a mistake - this is the manual, or if you want to call it a Lore book :)

Given this I assume that buying the physical Collectors edition to have a nice printed manual will be pretty pointless and manual-wise the download edition is the way to go ?

Since the manual is an awesome short story collection you can't go wrong with it! You can grab it and let it replace your evening reading material for a day!

A manual should be an explanation in detail of how to play the game, a short story collection is not a manual !

P.S. from reading some of the other threads it seems that there isn't a manual at all !!
