Flashpoint Campaigns Red Storm Update v2.01 Available

The new Cold War turned hot wargame from On Target Simulations, now expanded with the Player's Edition! Choose the NATO or Soviet forces in one of many scenarios or two linked campaigns. No effort was spared to model modern warfare realistically, including armor, infantry, helicopters, air support, artillery, electronic warfare, chemical and nuclear weapons. An innovative new asynchronous turn order means that OODA loops and various effects on C3 are accurately modeled as never before.

Capn Darwin, hi,

Was only kidding... but I suspect you realise that... hopefully.

OTS is a very professional outfit that is clear, one of the reasons why I am so confident this engine will run and run...

All the best,
Kip.

Kip. No problem. I feel bad because we ended up so far behind with the documents going into release. If there was one ball we dropped, that was it. We will be better prepared in the future.

I just installed v2.01 and also get the white OB highlight bar. I did reboot as Wodin mentioned but for me it made no diference. I did find that if you click on an unit in the OB, the highlight bar will change to a very, very light blue. This color will last as long as you click on units which are on the map or stay in the OB. However, if you click on an empty map hex, the highlight bar will turn white again.

We will look into the highlight color. There has been a case of it being very dark too. Weird glitch.

ORIGINAL: Andrew Loveridge
[*]The Main Theme.wav file was re-mastered to a standard bit rate. The original bit rate caused computers with older audio codecs to throw an error. Thanks to VPaulus for helping us find this one.

Superb soundtrack! It fits so well.

hafer, could you play it before? I think we got a couple very cool themes for the game. The opener when I first heard it was just right. At that time it did not have the full chorus in it and it was still awesome.

Gentlemen,

What a marvelous game! I've spent the last three hours meeking out a "contested battle" on the tutorial scenario and annoyed my wife to the point where I'm glad I'm leaving for TDY training this morning at 0800. I haven't had this much fun since 1979 when I picked up my copy of Avalon Hill's AIW. Since I have no one to play board games with anymore, what a rush to run into this game!

Now who do I have my wife name on the divorce proceedings when she files???

grant1pa,

Somewhere in the user agreement I believe we are absolved of any legal issues for such things. [:D]

We hope you enjoy the game and your marriage.

Sunburn, I just wish I had not broke the Helo hints. They will be fixed in 2.02.

Dear Capn Darwin,

the community has build a large wishlist. How many points of it will be implemented in the 2.02 update?

hafer, 2.02 is highly focused on a number of game play related bugs. Rob is sending me a list to review today and I can post on the high points of that list and highlight any player based enhancements. 2.03 will be focused on knocking out a few issues with PBEM++ and should also grab a few minor enhancements from the list as well. It will also be easier for us to know what goes when once we have a more cohesive plan for future efforts. We are in the process of doing that now as well. [8D]

A poll may be possible in the future once we have an idea of the major roadmap to the follow on expansions. There are a number of feature packages we are building up based on what we already had planned and also from the inputs from everyone here. When we hit a spot where we have a this or that branch we can look at a poll.
