Odd surrenders

Post by rmonical »

This is an Operation Blue scenario. For some reason, Soviet units are surrendering without being isolated. This just started this turn and the units in question are pretty beat up. One surrendered while not being surrounded (a rifle brigade). The others started the turn not isolated but were isolated at the time of combat. Out of five units in the pocket, all except the routed unit shown surrendered. The other two units were an AT brigade and a rifle brigade.

Is this expected behavior?

Unfortunately I have no clue about this. Could you setup an offline game to replicate it?

This is a server game. Operation Blue Monical v livipajo.
This may be WAD. If not and someone can download the game, then you might take a look.
To reproduce, move 24th Panzer in hex 158,76 one hex east and launch a hasty attack on the 167th tank brigade.

TIA

Joel, could you pull this save from the server for me to look at? Thanks!

Aren't those units more than 100MP from railhead? Such situation could trigger surrender, even if the unit is not isolated completely.

Isn't this your off rail value?

Anyway, without access to save I can do nothing. Why do you all play via server rather plain old PBEM? It's better, as one has a chance to keep all the old saves archived. Helps a lot with tracking bugs that creep slowly in.
