How Do I Use Landing Ship Docks?

Post by blueatoll »

How do I get landing craft onto LSDs? How are these things used? I've got 2 of them now as the Allies and I have no idea how to use them. Anyone point me to a tutorial?

You use them just like any other LS/LC type ship in an amphib tf. They load troops just like all the others (I forget offhand what their capacities are). It doesn't load ships to be used in an invasion but the capacities/unload rates are a function of those.

Various ships intended for amphibious use have inherent and invisible landing craft or they offload directly onto the beach. AKA and APA are AKs and APs with exra landing craft. LSTs and LSDs mostly offload directly onto the beach. The LS type ships work pretty much the same. The barges the Allies get are landing craft that were not attached to any larger ship.

It's abstracted in the speed of unloading since the game is unable to have more than one boat per ship, ex: submarines that can only have one kaiten.
