Idle construction battalions

I have idle construction battalions in AGS less than 25 hexes from these unconverted rail hexes. Should they have been allocated here?

I had the same issue and they only swarmed out like ant when I had an AG HQ less than 15 hexes away from the damaged railheads. Try it out; there might be other factors why they don't work as supposed to.

Same thing happened to me; move your HQ closer to the front; that should fix it.

I keep one SEC HQ, assign 2-4 CBs, locked, and move them precisely to whatever spot I feel appropriate. Amazing how it works.

It works even better if you put them into OKH due to its huge range.

Right, but oth you cannot control the brains of OKH whereas a CB in a Corps HQ will stay within 5 hexes, in other words in an area of my choice.

Appreciate ideas for where CB's could be stored and then how they deploy. For Axis I keep them at army level except for just one at each corps. Will try assigning to Sec pieces, etc.

For the most part I'm getting timely repair, although there are always cases that want for attention.

I never have them assigned to a Corps HQ, range is too short IMO and my Corps HQ are almost always on the move with the troops.

Each army HQ gets 4-6 construction BN's, Army group HQ's get 8-10 and OKH gets all the rest.

I will sometimes get a spot that the construction BN's don't seem to want to hit, but just moving a HQ closer usually does the trick.

Don't forget to lock OKH or they will be reassigned. Also no guarantee they start with the nearest hexes available.

After the attack on the partisan unit AND moving OKH into the hex, the construction battalions in 102nd RHG finally deploy into the rail hex whilst those in OKH go elsewhere.

I think there is a funky hex state buried in the code somewhere. I have another slow to convert hex to play with when this one is finished.

So the problem was perhaps that the hex was occupied by a hidden partisan cadre unit. Obviously construction units didn't want to go to a hex containing enemy unit. Only after the partisan was activated and you routed it from the hex, it became free to repair.

I thought the German RHG HQs weren't able to be used for RR. Was that changed in a recent patch?
