1.07.11 Beta and Lviv Mega-Pocket

Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: The German-Soviet War 1941-1945 is a turn-based World War II strategy game stretching across the entire Eastern Front. Gamers can engage in an epic campaign, including division-sized battles with realistic and historical terrain, weather, orders of battle, logistics and combat results.

The critically and fan-acclaimed Eastern Front mega-game Gary Grigsby’s War in the East just got bigger and better with Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: Don to the Danube! This expansion to the award-winning War in the East comes with a wide array of later war scenarios ranging from short but intense 6 turn bouts like the Battle for Kharkov (1942) to immense 37-turn engagements taking place across multiple nations like Drama on the Danube (Summer 1944 – Spring 1945).

1.07.11 Beta and Lviv Mega-Pocket

Post by lastkozak »

My understanding was the mega pocket cannot be done with the 1.07.11 beta patch.

Yet, my new opponent did not know that, and has somehow convinced the computer it can still be done!

Or am I incorrect in the assumption that it was changed to remove that opening move?

It is not quite the mega-pocket.

Instead of surrounding the forces SE of Rovno, I just pushed them south and southwest.

Was kind of tight since they retreated into the path 11Pz needs to take to the Romanian border via Tarnopol.

Germans are stronger now, with their armored cars having a combat value (about 7CV more across the front), and their support units are making more of their rolls successfully.

Please post these questions in other subforum, the bug subforum.

Indeed, move these several interesting threads, but what is the "bug" sub-forum?

I meant tech subforum. It's description says "Post bug reports and request support here".

I posted the question, after I saw my opponents turn, that is after my opponents action! Indeed it is a question, but reporting that the Lviv mega pocket is still available. I was not reporting a bug however.

Move it if you wish, it really does not matter to me. You may wish to define the headings a little bit more. They seem vague to me.

The mega pocket that was blocked was the one based on maintaining the freeze of the Romanian Front on turn 2 while moving German motorized forces into Romania on turn 1 in anticipation of a double envelopment. Also, Romanian units were moved back from the border area to make the southern railway from Lvov area accessible if the Germans don't drive south on turn 1. The normal turn 1 pocket has not been changed.
All understanding comes after the fact.
