[ADDED v1.09] Feature Request: Place Names Labels

Post by Temple »

It occurs to me that sometimes I'd like to be able in the scenario editor to put place name labels on the map. These wouldn't be reference points with all the inherent limitations, like being able to be accidentally deleted or renamed. Instead, this feature would allow the designer to place a label that would be visible to both sides. A nice addition would be for the labels to be enabled or disabled on the map via the Game Options menu while playing the scenario, to cut down on the clutter if desired.

The way this feature might work in the Editor:
- Using either control+right-click or via a drop down menu, enable "Add Label"
- When the map is left-clicked, a text field appears, left justified to the click point.
- The designer enter the text, then by either pressing "Enter" or some other method, the text field box closes and the label is displayed.

This would keep superfluous RPs from being added to the map and also allow a bit more of an immerse feel to the scenario.
