Truly "wild" Wild Weasels

Post by Schnaufer »

Have had a/c go to a radiating target, launch all harms and orbit, when told to rtb, go to tanker, then back to target and orbit until crash from out of fuel. Even if ordered rtb again, will continue to be "engaged offensive" w/o ammo until out of gas.
I have rtb when Winchester selected, and use refuel/unrep set to "no".

Maybe I am doing something wrong ?
Thanks, have a good one all

IMO, aircraft AI logic and the extrent of the player's infuence over it, is the biggest flaw in an otherwise excellent sim at the moment.

I saw this "orbiting SEAD" behavior lots of times, too. I think it may be connected to the AI "wanting to do" strafing runs on targets, but not going lower to actually get into range of their guns.

I made a scenario that shows the orbiting SEAD behavior.
