Question?

The new Cold War turned hot wargame from On Target Simulations, now expanded with the Player's Edition! Choose the NATO or Soviet forces in one of many scenarios or two linked campaigns. No effort was spared to model modern warfare realistically, including armor, infantry, helicopters, air support, artillery, electronic warfare, chemical and nuclear weapons. An innovative new asynchronous turn order means that OODA loops and various effects on C3 are accurately modeled as never before.

Question?

Post by wodin »

Is there anyway to make sure when a unit finishes it's move it goes into Hold posture rather than screen?

Also hope to see the ability at some point to be able to give the first waypoint say move hasty..second move deliberate and third hold. (just an example).

Give it an assault movement order. They end with a Hold posture.

Any other movement orders end with a Screen posture.

These have both been raised in some other threads, and the devs responded that it is something that they are considering implementing, but it is not an easy fix. Apparently there was even some internal disagreement whether the game should be released without these features IIRC, which hopefully means the waypoint system will eventually get some love.
First wargame: Jedko's 1st edition "The Russian Campaign". First computer wargame: don't remember the name, but it was on punch cards.
