Offical Strategy Guide

Post by Geckomeister_MatrixForum »

Hey Guys,

Have the Devs thought of releasing an Official Strategy Guide for the Game?

I would pay for one if it had alot of indepth strategies.
Cheers

We could begin something like it in the War Room subforum. There's a lot to cover!

This sim is about naval/air operations, so nothing invented for the game. Use the old harpoon tactics guide if you can get hold of them, thats the strategies in some nutshells for all that do not have a long own service record and need the basic principles and some more. I find it usefull to check on these sources again. Just a thought.

Some good info here:

http://www.harpoonhq.com/waypoint/

Also here:

http://www.warfaresims.com/forum/viewfo ... 5d2b19d532

While these are specific to Harpoon, there is a lot of good general info that is not game specific on how to accomplish tasks that can be easily transferred to Command.

The old Harpoon users manual had a nice section in the second half of it on weapons, sensors, strike missions, that is also good general info. So if you can find or have a copy of that it can also be of help.

I'd vote for a Wiki.

A Command wiki would be a very good idea.

Actually we're looking to see what players come up with in terms of strategies. Going forward this helps us with AI logic.

My favorite strategy is ICBM strike. Its pretty tough to defend against it.

I like the wiki idea, particularly because in that system different areas could be created and fleshed out continuosly.
And a person could directly choose his particular area to hone in on. There are people with different degrees of expertise and as they contributed
and edited in their chosen areas, we could all study and learn different and even more effecient ways of enjoying the software.
That system also means a fast flow of information because so many people with years of experience would be contributing simultaneously.
As I use this software it is increasingly evident that it is designed on a solid foundation. Look out world!
