Escort

Post by guderian68 »

Hi everyone,

I've just started to play around with air mission and I have a problem with escort.
If I create a strike mission with a few escort aircraft more often than not the strike unit take off before the escort. So in the route to target the escort is well behind the striker.

Is there any way to sort the take off queue of single mission ?

Thanks in advance

This is an issue until an advanced strike planner is implemented.

What you can do is create the mission, assign all the units, activate it. Then as soon as you see all assigned units go to (readying, taxiing etc) make the mission inactive again. Planes will still takeoff, and loiter around the base. Then when everyone is airborne, set the mission to active and they will all go enroute. Still doesn't queue the escort in front of the strikers but it's better than nothing.

Alternately I guess you could make separate missions for seperate roles and activate them with desired intervals.

Or be a micromanagement nazi like myself and do everything manually lol

As TC said. I've also used a single-RP Support mission called FORM UP [Name of Airbase], where I first send aircraft before grouping and assigning them to Missions.
