How about as a future add that ability? I have also had a problem with my AI crew marking a fishing vessel "hostile" (I guess because it was marked as "owned" by the enemy), and then promptly attacked and sunk (with a corresponding point deduction). It would be nice to be able to down rate the threat status (back to neutral if nothing else).

I had that happen to me in the Advanced ASW Exercise.
Because I didn't want the AI to sink a civilian, I panicked and just quickly dropped the contact. [:)]

The AI then picked up the contact again as unidentified and with a neutral status and no sailors were harmed.

The ability to reset the status to neutral would be handy.

OK, how do I "drop the contact" exactly?

Someday it would be nice to be able to manually mark units hostile/unfriendly/neutral/unknown. You can't declare anyone friendly since you already know about them.

On this note, it would also be handy to paint contacts 'suspected friendly' and 'suspected hostile' ala Dangerous Waters.
