Destroyed Ship Hulks / Wrecks

Post by Adam106 »

Hi,

Looking at a couple of tutorial vids, it appears that when a ship was destroyed it is automatically removed from the map. Is there no destroyed unit / hulk / wreck type status. It would be pretty unrealistic to have a unit disappear in an instant when out of hit points.

How is this modeled exactly?

Hi Adam

Depends on the damage done to the vessel. You've also got fire and flooding values that creep up and down.

OK, but if a unit is determined as 'destroyed' - structurally - does it take time to sink or is it removed instantaneously?

Looking good so far by the way. I'm very tempted. Trailer is well done as well.

Depends on the damage inflicted, criticals and burning and flooding. So like reality if you wack a merchant with a 500lb LGB it hurts but not an instant sink. Hit a small boat and its gone instantly.
