Rebuild or Reattach units having withdrawal dates

Post by Flicker »

Some LCUs or Air Units can Rebuild or Reattach with subunits that have permanent withdrawal dates, for example: 1st Burma Division can Rebuild using the 11th Burma Rifles Battalion which withdraws in 236 days. How does the game treat this issue? Does the unit disappear from the LCUs TOE after rebuilding when the withdrawal date is reached? Or by combining the 11th Bn into the 1st Burma Division does the player get a 'free' unit that will not withdraw?

Another example is the VP-102 air unit: VP-102# parent is in the game until the end, but VP-102 Det permanently withdraws 1Jun1942; however if the Det is Reattached it appears that the air unit does not need to be withdrawn (the parent is full strength with no permamnet withdrawal date). Does the player get charged PPs for not permanently withdrawing the Det if it is part of the larger unit? Does VP-102 lose the 6 planes that were attached upon the withdrawal date?

Any group of subunits that get combined disappear from the OOB and are replaced with a single new unit. If this new unit has a withdrawal date defined, then it goes on that date. All the old subunits no longer exist.
