New review: Germany at War scores 80%

Germany At War: Operation Barbarossa 1941 is an elegant turn-based design, inspired by classics such as Panzer General, but with more of a historical focus. You command the German forces through a branching historical campaign covering the entire 1941 campaign as well as part of the 1942 campaign. Dozens of scenarios stretch from the Soviet border all the way to Archangel and towards Astrakhan, the original military goals of Operation Barbarossa. Step into a wargame where your performance will rewrite history, through an addictive combination of compelling gameplay, realistic events and challenging battles.

New review: Germany at War scores 80%

Post by Ronald Wendt »

Hello,

there is a new review on the game, once again its in German. This time Germany at War scored 80%.

A quote (first the German, then my humble translation):

Wer dem unverwüstlichen Spielprinzip des Klassikers „Panzer General“ etwas abgewinnen kann, der wird an „Germany at War: Barbarossa 1941“ ebenfalls Freude finden. Der Titel kann vor allem mit einem ausgeklügelten, abwechslungsreichen Feldzugmodus überzeugen, bietet darüber hinaus aber auch eine solide KI sowie interessante Neuerungen in Sachen Truppenmanagement.

He who likes the undestructable game concept of the classic "Panzer General" will enjoy "Germany at War: Barbarossa 1941". The game particularly convinces with the elaborated and diversified campaign mode, but also offers a solid AI as well as interesting innovations concerning the management of troops.

The same institution has reviewed Panzer Corps in the past.

If you now ignore the rating of the graphics by Gamers Hall for both games, both games are very close to each other (That means yes, Germany at War: Barbarossa 1941 is that good! [;)]).

Most players does matter to the gameplay, to the fun.
And for this, I'd set Germany at War: Barbarossa 1941 in front of Panzer Corps! [:)]
