Turn 138

Overall
Not too bad a turn really, no real disasters, and we pull back a little more in the south. But I do feel everything is in balance now, so a little shift could cause all sorts of problems for me. But for now, we keep doing as we do, and pray for mud.
44 USSR attacks resulted in 25 helds, 17 retreats, 1 rout and 1 shatter. We only did 5 attacks this turn, and scored 5 retreats.

Losses
USSR : 98.000 troops, 1.253 guns, 195 AFVs, 243 AC.
Axis : 64.000 troops, 1.199 guns, 217 AFVs, 47 AC.

German units destroyed
The 184th Stug battalion is no more.

German units disbanded
8 Fort Zones.

Partisans
3 remain after we kill off 6.

Only 1 of your INF is in refit mode. How is your rifle pool?

Yup, two reasons for that (oh, and there are others down the list in refit mode tbh);
1. Units I use as "stoppers" are ever placed on refit (these units will keep retreating over and over. They just occupy a hex to force an attack from the USSR. These units will eventually be merged into other units)
2. I took the screenie before adjusting units. Some more of those on the list were set to refit.

Turn 139

Overall
If I am to make a guess, Sean is now too far ahead of his rail lines. His attack has lost momentum. Sure, he still makes quite a lot of attacks per turn, but he does not seem to have the speed to push through my line and wreck havoc in the rear lines. So, we keep making attacks where we have to, and keep pushing him back.
48 USSR attacks this turn, ending with 19 helds and 29 retreats. Our 18 attacks gave us 1 held, 14 retreats, 2 routs and 1 shatter.

Losses
I would think so...

German units destroyed
The 3/52nd SP Flak Company is destroyed.

German units disbanded
3 Fort Zones.

Partisans
We kill 4, leaving 6 on the map.

Turn 140

Overall
Ok, the USSR had refuelled. They initially trapped some of our divisions, but their screening force was just too weak, so our troops are safe once more. This was however yet another bloody turn. Where is that mud!?!
57 USSR attacks, for a result of 28 helds, 1 scouted, 26 retreats and 2 routed. Our 13 attacks gave 1 held and 12 retreats. Gotta be happy with that I suppose.

Losses
USSR : 117.000 troops, 1.566 guns, 414 AFVs, 506 AC.
Axis : 74.000 troops, 1.559 guns, 212 AFVs, 154 AC.

German units destroyed
The 1/604th SP Flak Company is destroyed.

Partisans
All 10 are delt with.

Turn 141 aka Turn of Ouch!

Overall
The USSR came real close to destroying us this turn, but once more we managed to pull most of our exposed units back, and we broke all encirclements. However, things are not looking good in AGC (see below). This is also the turn with the most USSR attacks to date I think.
50 helds, 49 retreats, 5 routs and 1 surrender totals 105 USSR attacks this turn!! Our 15 attacks gave a result of 2 helds, 11 retreats and 2 routs.

Losses
USSR : 138.000 troops, 1.918 guns, 596 AFVs, 792 AC.
Axis : 102.000 troops, 2.391 guns, 306 AFVs, 196 AC.

German units destroyed
1 fortified zone.

German units disbanded
8 fortified zones.

Partisans
3 are killed, 2 remain.

German Pools
Manpower : 169.186
Vehicles : 169.462
Armaments : 151.302
Hiwi : 918

Major concerns
1. Can I extract the units in AGC
2. How long until mud

Turn 142 aka Crap! Mud!

Overall
So we get mud in the centre, but it is really one turn too late, and I doubt I can free the trapped units unless the mud disappears for one turn. And even then it will be a 0-10% chance of extracting them...
62 USSR attacks resulted in 20 helds, 1 scouted, 40 retreats and 1 rout. Our 5 attacks gave 1 held and 4 retreats.

Losses
USSR : 92.000 troops, 969 guns, 408 AFVs, 363 AC.
Axis : 66.000 troops, 1.499 guns, 194 AFVs, 137 AC.

German units destroyed
The following SUs were destroyed; 610th SP Light Flak Battalion, 704th SP Infantry Gun Company, 701st Infantry Gun Company.

German units disbanded
12 fortified zones.

Partisans
2 are left after we kill off 5.

Looks like destruction of AGC 3 months early. Very grim. That will more than make up for the slow pace in the south. Your opponent has consistently focused his effort north of the Pripyet, and it is paying off surprisingly well. He really suckered you in the winter when you forgot about the freeze effects opening up Lake Ilmen and everything snowballed from there, that was imo your critical error.

I believe that the critical error was not building a prepared fort line in the north. WHY?

Replace "forgot" with "were thought" [:D]
But I agree 100%.

Because I had a very hard time attacking in -41 and -42 I needed/used all units up on the line.

ouch, very impressive Soviet offensive there ... rather hard to see, even with mud, if you can dig your way out of this hole

I could this turn, but I fear I might just be setting myself up for a bigger loss in the end...

Turn 143 aka Get moving!!

Overall
Back to blizzard, so we manage to reopen the pocket. The real problem is that we are not really extracting any units, just making sure they will rout and not surrender if attacked. In the south we moved back to the next line, allowing us to send two more panzer divisions north.
28 USSR attacks resulted in 18 helds, 1 scouted and 9 retreats, while our 4 attacks gave 1 held and 3 retreats. The held result was 3 PzDivs versus one tank battalion....

Losses
USSR : 67.000 troops, 404 guns, 248 AFVs, 288 AC.
Axis : 48.000 troops, 875 guns, 209 AFVs, 131 AC.

German units disbanded
12 fortified zones.

Partisans
Seems Sean flew a lot of supply to them. 5 remain after we kill 8.

German Pools
Sorry, forgot to check [:@]

Turn 144 aka ¤%"#& Game mechanics!!!!

Overall
Bye bye AGC. Bye bye love for the game (well for the next hour that is, then I realize I am an addict and come crawling back). The "printed" CV should be banned. Any mod out there that shows no CV for my units? God I hate how this works.
1 USSR Rifle division and 2 Tank brigades stand against the best German unit on the field plus one above average unit... ARGH!!!!!!
27 USSR attacks gave a result of 10 helds, 13 retreats and 4 routs. Our 13 attacks gave 5 helds (all in the same hex) and 8 retreats.

Losses
USSR : 64.000 troops, 709 guns, 253 AFVs, 363 AC.
Axis : 50.000 troops, 948 guns, 241 AFVs, 89 AC. + AGC

German units destroyed
5/48th SP Flak Company, 6/47th SP Flak Company

German units disbanded
10 fortified zones.

Partisans
1 remain after we kill off 7.

Ouch, that looks like game, set and match. But keep it on, no surrender. [;)]
