Game not working right

My info:

System: Windows 7 Home Premium all patches current.

Computer: Alienware M15x (2 years old). Intel i7 processor 8 Gb RAM

Game version: 1.8.0.4

I am playing a modified version of the 1941-1946 Campaign. I have added Sea Hurricane aircraft to the database, using the standard Hurricane data, but indicating it is a carrier fighter.

Problem: I have a task force with 3 RN CVs. It just left port on a mission to follow a bombardment task force. The three carriers have 1 Martlet squadron a piece, and one carrier is also carrying a 9 plane Sea Hurricane squadron. I have set the mission for the Martlet squadrons as Escort, 60% CAP at 34,900 ft.

The issue is that since upgrading from Fulmars to Martlets, the fighter squadrons will not fly. I have checked all settings, the carriers have the full number of sorties available and are not overloaded, having 33 aircraft per (max load is 33). The fighter squadrons are a 1-3 fatigue, morale at 99 and experience at 60 or better. Leaders are also 60 plus in Leadership and Initiative ratings.

Am I doing something wrong? I've been playing WITP since it came out. Could the game be corrupted and need reinstalling?

I doubt that it'll make a difference but there is a patch to 1.8.0.6 available.

Otherwise it looks like they are doing some kind of flying if they have a fatigue of 1-3 (assuming you have been waiting a few days to see if it's working).

As BPRE noted they may very well be flying CAP missions. Sometimes AI local commander on its own figures there's no threat and don't send escort with strike planes (sometimes AI figures wrong [:D]). For testing you can set them to 100% CAP at sea (outside base hex) - they should accumulate visible amount of fatigue in a day.
If you feel that they still refuse to fly check the slot(s) at which your carrier planes are located in the scenario database. To be carrier-capable (and thus able to fly missions other then transfer from carrier deck) airplane must be in one of predefined slot ranges. Take a look at the Confirming Carrier Capable & IJN airgroup no. at start thread(note carrier capable B-25 doing Doolittle raid [:'(]). Bottomline is that apparently only planes in slot ranges 1-25 (jap) or 77-101 or 243+ are carrier capable (as long as they are not FP or FF planes).
Altrenatively compare your modification with these in CHS scenario (which includes Sea Hurrcanes too) - note that CHS uses 243+ slot range to add a few more allied carrier-capable planes.
