UI Suggestion

Post by DHRedge »

This is a pretty simple idea, although I think it would be a big help and add to the personalization feeling of the game.

People name Task forces to make it more intuitive or to organize them, sometimes to add flavor.

The window "Task Forces In This Hex", from clicking on the icon of two ships that is often in port when many task forces are there, pops that window. Click on a large pile of TF in some port.

You will notice there is a blank spot on the right of the text, from when they added some other filtering options.
That blank space should be used to display another column, that column would be the user notes represented as Task Force Names.

There is room in that display space for the TF Name to be displayed, could even be editable from there.

It also could be added to other places like the combat screens or intel. However it could not be shown to other side, since it often has some information in it.

It would add much information, since I usually have an idea what the anphib is doing, or where a cargo is going in the name, that being on that screen would add much to the information.

Have you ever tried to mouseover a TF from the TF selection screen? There you get your TF name.

The space to the right of the columns is not really an option as the name can be longer than the free space, and AFAIK the width of the window is hardcoded.
