Game Crashes

Post by Alan Sharif »

I am playing the scenario 'Their Hardest Battle'. As soon as the Luftwaffe arrive as reinforcements, and an airstrike takes place, the game crashes. The log is below. I am hoping there may be a resolve out there. No error message is received, the game crashes and I am returned to desktop. My PC is Windows 8.

I wonder why the log doesn't even mention 'Their Hardest Battle'?

Do you have a saved game from a turn or two before this happens that you can zip and attach here? I've started the Their Toughest Battle. It looks like the first Stukas arrive somewhere around Turn 3?

Thanks

Hi Rick

That is correct. I do have a saved turn ( the one before) and will see what I can do with it. I am not the most computer literate member here by a country mile. :(

Thanks for your help.

System.Exception: No valid corner found for pathfinding.
This seems to be the problem (unless it's a red-herring). I don't know what a valid corner could be. That map contains a lot of heavy woods that are impassible for tanks. Though it shouldn't affect the pathing of planes.

Thanks for spotting that. I do feel it is the planes that are the issue. As soon as an airstrike is launched the games crashes. However, that might just be a coincidence. I have only just purchased the title and have not played another scenario with an airstrike yet.

I have zipped and uploaded the file as requested ( I think ). Thanks again for all your help. Thus far other scenarios have played fine.

Turn 3 worked for me. You do have some mighty long paths for your units though. You might try shortening them a bit in case the game is running out of memory resolving the paths on your machine.

Interesting, I also tried your save 3 different times but for me, each time it crashed to desktop as you described.

I'll try a few more things, but in meantime, you might try reducing the paths for your units as Mobius suggests. This might be an issue with memory. This is one of the larger maps and also has quite a few units.

The first error msg in the log referred to a pathing issue, though the error msg just prior to crash referred to a file loading error (though I think this might have cascaded from the previous error.

Sorry for the problem.

Thanks

I tried the save again and it still works. I do get a message saying the 'Mega8192 texture cache' couldn't be created. Which may be a good thing as there might be more available memory to play with.
