Panzer Corps v1.20 update

Fans of the old Panzer General series rejoice for the release of Panzer Corps. Following in the footsteps of the popular SSI masterpiece and sharing with the General series the same level of engagement and strategic depth, Panzer Corps will keep an unmistakable "PG feeling" whilst improving and refining the gameplay and balance. Panzer Corps will feature 26 scenarios on 21 unique maps, covering most major battles of the European Theatre of World War II and including a few hypothetical 'what if' scenarios based on your actions. Now expanded with a full-war mega-campaign and the Afrika Corps and Allied Corps releases!

Panzer Corps v1.20 update

Panzer Corps Wehrmacht has been updated to version 1.20. The v1.20 update adds new improvements in the gameplay (Class-specific experience effects, forcing enemy units to surrender earns you prestige,etc.) and new units, like the Sherman Crab T28 Super Heavy and many more! It contains also new modding options, bug fixing and German and Russian localizations of the Library. The patch is compatible with the original game and Afrika Korps.

v1.20 – June 6th, 2013

• Changes

o Option to save and watch game replays
o Option to change difficulty between scenarios in a campaign
o The game now shows scenario name, difficulty and victory conditions in Messages window.
o Advanced options tab for new game. Custom difficulty settings (player/AI prestige/experience/strength modifiers, turn count modifier, AI level setting), Reform units option, Normal/limited/none randomness in combat option
o "Show All Nations" option in Purchase screen (to view and compare stats of units belonging to different nations)


• Gameplay

o Prestige soft cap
o Class-specific experience effects
o Forcing enemy units to surrender earns you prestige
o Overstrength is progressively more expensive with every point applied
o Initiative heroes are limited to +1 bonus
o Entrenchment gives 2x defense bonus against ranged attacks
o Close terrain now gives +4 defense bonus to ground units vs. fighter and tactical bomber attack
o Overstrength is lost after upgrade
o Replacements come suppressed
o Train transportation takes 2 turns instead of 3
o Old rules (as in 1.14) available via UI option on advanced options tab

Hi Phil, I have looked through all the game files but can NOT find an explanation of the 1.2 "Rules". You mention the changes, and I have seen those in several spots, including a readme file within the Panzer Corps directory. But bringing up the RULES gives me the 'old' rules and No explanation about the new stuff, including what ChessDice means (specifically) etc. Where is that file? In the new Advanced Screen (when selecting a Scenario) it asks if we want to use NEW or OLD rules, but what's the difference?? Thanks much! RIK

Better to check Slitherine forum, which has a more active Panzer Corps section.

It should be noted that panzer corps Wehrmacht HAS NOT been updated but ONLY allied corps has been updated to these new units and advanced options . While it may show that you can reform units in the east west scenarios in fact you cannot..

Sorry but no. The ext file won't work and there are others who posted on that thread it also won't work.

Well, it seems to work for everything but the DLCs. Another link below with how to get that to work while a new patch is worked up. Seems like a lot of work but some may want to try it.
