************Tax Day, 1943(c)*************

PI: Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh! <light goes on> JJ has deduced that Loaog is our landing spot and they wre waiting for us. Looks like perhaps two SCTF there. No night battle at Iba.

Morning Air attack on TF, near Laoag at 81,69

Weather in hex: Light cloud

Raid spotted at 10 NM, estimated altitude 14,000 feet.
Estimated time to target is 3 minutes

Allied aircraft
SBD-3 Dauntless x 12

Allied aircraft losses
SBD-3 Dauntless: 7 damaged

Japanese Ships
DD Suzukaze
DD Hayashio, Bomb hits 1, on fire
DD Ushio

I guess some staff hack left some of the SBD's on ground attack. Idiots. Some of the defending Zeroes are from a Kaga air group, the others from Soryu. This is why you don't use SBD's on ground attack at dive bombing altitudes unless the defender is in bad shape. The SBD's are prone to ground fire. We discover a regiment of 54th Div at Iba.

Morning Air attack on 54th/A Division, at 78,75 (Iba)

Reasonably sure I didn't leave anything/anybody behind. At least when I was sober. Whoops, that doesn't account for large chunks of the tour then.

Troopships or a suppry convoy at Aparri. The have a good CAP. We have Hellcats. We win. Note these boys flew right over Kirishima. Must be croudy.

Japanese Ships
xAP Kashima Maru
xAP Ussuri Maru, Bomb hits 2, heavy fires, heavy damage
xAK Utide Maru, Bomb hits 1, on fire
xAK Syunko Maru, Bomb hits 1, on fire

It does appear Ushio is damaged badly enough to be detached. The Oceanic White Tips close in. A staff hack remembered to change the TBF's to bomb load-outs (no torps at Iba) but forgot to cahnge attack altitude....so they glide bomb at 5000 ft. Fortuantely there isn't much AAA.

Afternoon Air attack on TF, near Laoag at 81,69

Burma: JJ has started a retreat from Northern Burma. They abandoned Myitkynia and Paoshan (I think). You saw the picture of the capture and beautification of Myitkynia. Now we get to install a proper garden and some walking paths, maybe a reflection pool at Katha. The B-24's apparently took the day off.

Burma. Interesting situation. Not sure where ALSP intends to cross the Salween. Prome would be tough. A river assault and 6 LYB units.

If you look carefully you can see the pip on 20th Indian. Where they are headed will put them in a position to cross the Salween NE of Prome somewhere, causing consternation among the WJD and forcing them to spread out. The boys from Ramree could then try to get across N or S of Prome or go head to head.

The 20K WJD moving out of Shwebo could have been trying to Strat move to Katha and the train crew went on strike when they heard the Allies took it. If so, it will take them a while to get their stuff on the road again, or they might recognize the bigger threats to the south and back up the train.
Looks like Taung Gyi and the base NW of it are the keys to locking up N Burma.

I went to a 60's party yesterday so I Binged "bell bottom jeans".

Now I have ads for women's bell bottom jeans when I go to ABCNews. Looks like they have a few bugs to work out. [:)]

You have to find the feature that lets you delete your search history so it won't try and relate searches to each other [not-so-helpfully]. [:D]

Welcome to the madness. If you've read this entire thing may I suggest you consult a local mental health professional?

Aye. What would that say about those that wrote this thing then?

I think Cap and Admirar Rord Sprior were both a tad bit loony before they started. Now as for me, I started late and read all 375 pages available at the time before joining in. I think that qualifies me as certifiable. Those who have hung around commenting since the beginning, what say you for yourselves?

Watch this...you will be impressed.

Hey Walloc;

When do you use a two tight end offense?

Sorry Cap,

Didnt see it until now. When u have Aaron Hernandez and the Gronk on ur team and only one WR that can catch a ball, except ofc when in the superbowl. Then he turns his a god given talent onto to pissing off brasilian models. Well, or if u are the Saints. Sorry guys but Drew gets injured this year and we(fans of the Saints, read not me) will hafta start pulling out the brown paper bags again.
Any how lets see this year. With the setup the Bengals have now, i forsee them using it quite a bit this year.

Else, when u do a '43 invasion of the Home islands its always nice to have ur line shouldered on two flexible, yet sturdy flanks. An excellent use of the two TE attack.

This year, as last was my first ever at fantasy, i know what im doing, aka ill lose all of my games!

Speak for yourself Grollub! Here in Canada "loony" [alternate spelling loonie] is good currency, so we are free of the jacket. Parkas are a different story ...[:(]

Luzon. Not sure what they were doing with Kirishima. Proabably trying to interecept our carriers or amphibious group. We fool them. We no show up. Iba seems safe now with the bulk of 21st Marine in place. Lingayen just has a triffle of Marines.

Maybe we should just land 7th Aus at Lingayen and march up to Aparri? We have a Tank Bn 1-2 days out from Iba/Lingayen and a TD Bn. 2-3d out plus two Arty Bn about 4 d out.
