Hahah I see your post! I was just in the process of adding your mods to the list I have too. Someone requested a list over in the general forums and I figured why not?

Star Wars - Alderaan

can be added to the list of upcoming mods and is working and currently being developed in Shadows. With a little luck it will be available soon.

Oh, do remember to keep the latest copy of all the mods from the authors' post as backup just to make sure the mods are preserved for the future just in case the authors do not return to update the mods/posts.

I'll try. Its not a high priority at the moment since Shadows is so new, but maybe it'd be possible to find a hosting service that will be around a while, like a dropbox or something.

Here we go. I installed and tried Shadows yesterday and can confirm that:

Fully Compatible
Sirian's Resource Mod is fully compatible with Shadows

Compatible, but missing Shadow specific stuff
Sirian's EVE Component Mod is compatible with Shadows, but there are a few icons missing at the moment. I have started creating those icons but am not fully satisfied with the result.

Sirian's Character Icon Mod is compatible with Shadows but there is one icon missing, the ship captain icon. It will be added as soon as possible.

Sirian's Ship Mod is apparently cmpatible with Shadows but I admit I haven't checked all the ships. There are 4 additional ship families in Shadows, these will still show their original graphics.

Incompatible
Sirian's Troop Icon Mod is not compatible with Shadows and should not be used. It won't ruin anything as it is added to the Customization folder, but the results will not be very pretty.

I also use Martian's GEM mod and can confirm that

- the icons are working, but there are some new icons
- the planets (plus cloud overlays) are working
- the planet scenic images are working
- the ruins are working
- the race icons are working

There is an issue with the planet shadow image, you will have to backup and use the D:\Matrix Games\Distant Worlds\images\environment\overlays\shadow\shading.png file from shadows. There is an explanation in Martian's GEM thread I think.

Sounds good. I believe your ship mod should be fully compatible! I yanked some of the infected ships from Space Pirates and Zombies, maybe those could fill in the missing holes? I haven't had time to process them into shipsets yet though. Also got screen grabs of most of the ships in Nexus: The Jupiter Project which should amount to at least 3 shipsets, if the quality ends up being good enough (not sure yet).

@AstroCat Try asking around in that thread, I haven't used GEMS with Shadows yet myself.

@Mansen Gladly! That was very fast from announcement to release, and really nice work on it too! I doubt you'll find much in the way of artwork for the troops for these races, so stealing bits and pieces from the existing troop icons is probably the way to go. I'll dig into your files and see how things are balanced as soon as I have a chance (later this week?). I wish pirate ships didn't count against the shipset limit.. I wonder if there's a way to trick the game into thinking there are only 50 folders when there are in fact more.. hmm.. will have to think more on this!

My real star names mod is compatible with Shadows. You may not want to post it, given the similarity with Tampa_Gamer's mod, but mine steers clear of fictional names, sticking purely to real star names including all the "Delta Obscuritus" type names which Tampa sensibly avoided. I also took no prisoners with the North American tongue :-)

Upcoming mods? Why not wait til they are done and released. I've seen so many threads like this with prospective authors that never ever get around to releasing their mod.
Regardless of whether you've already got a portfolio of mods to show you'll actually get it done why clog up a thread like this with mods that don't exist yet... it's far from conductive to providing accurate information.
