...mumbling....

Post here to meet players for PBEM games and generally engage in ribbing and banter about your prowess.

...mumbling....

Post by GreyJoy »

Hi all...

.... i had answered to Erkki's "looking for an allied opponent" but he seemed to have disappeared since then...probably due to some RL situations...

However, as my prime game as Japan is entering in 1944, i think i have enough space (with the summer arriving) to start a brand new match as the GOOD GUYS, trying to see if i learnt something since the last game with Rader and this one as Japan against QBall.

I wanna play a Da Big Babes game, scenario 2 with extended map and stacking limits and the very latest beta patch available. Sorry but these are not negotiable.

HRs? The usual ones...
No strat bombing before late 1943.
No single ship TF
Only 1 port attack on turn 1
allied cannot form any new TF on turn 1 and can move only existing ones
Only units attached to unrestricted commands can move beyond national borders (Manchuria->China and India->Burma).
Thai units can fight in Burma (not in China).
Chinese units needs to be bought out before moving to Burma-India
No strato sweeps-> Max alt=second best mvr band
No 4Es on naval attack except Navy liberators and only from 10,000
No night bombing (only night naval bombing allowed). Only in 1944 allied B29s will be allowed to city bomb at night, but only the HI (no oilfields in the DEI so to be clear)
...no gamey things (like placing Jakes on a sub).
R&D and PDU ON but Realistic R&D ON too (i want you to plan in advance[:D])

The rest is negotiable...obviously...

I won't pick anyone. I know, sounds harsh, but i wanna choose carefully my opponent...it's like a marriage as you know[;)]...so don't be offended if i refuse.

What else? Oh yes, i can guarantee at least 1 turn per day (maybe more) but i wanna be clear: my ongoing game with Brad has the priority... but i can easily manage at least 1 turn per day as the allies.

Ok... let's see what happens now

[:)]

It'll be interesting to see this after your latest game learning the Japanese side and previous experience with the Allies. I will hazard a prediction that you will not lose China and India in this one! [:D]

Good luck my friend!

Real Men (and you ARE Italian, no?) don't need these steenkin' HRs.

Go commando, my friend. It's a wild ride. [8D]

Agree, it is easier to play with no house rules. And more exciting.

I'd offer, but I suck.

Seriously, whoever you accept as your opponent, I know the game and AAR will be as enjoyable to follow as your ongoing and previous PBEM's have been.

Thank you all guys! Opponent found and already started. MRKane will play as Japan

After one year of playing as Japan, I can't wait to be swimming in supplies and fuel... [:D][:D][:D]

Don't think i'll have time for an AAR... For sure not at the beginning of the war, when things are usually very repetitive. Maybe i'll say something when and if something interesting begins to happen

Wait.....nobody publicly rejected as an opponent? Bringing back painful memories of being the last guy picked for baseball. ...endless hours crying at night...the sting of a dream unrealized...schoolyard bullies..the cute blonde girl who only knew you by your last name...settling into endless, rote mediocrity...the 3rd place trophy from the 1989 Waukeegan Mens/Women USDA Employess Tournament pitifully displayed over the chipped formica table in mom's kitchen......

One of the serious problems in planning the fight against American doctrine.... is that the Americans do not read their manuals, nor do they feel any obligation to follow their doctrine
