The development team behind the award-winning games Decisive Campaigns: From Warsaw To Paris and Advanced Tactics is back with a new and improved game engine that focuses on the decisive year and theater of World War II! Decisive Campaigns: Case Blue simulates the German drive to Stalingrad and into the Caucasus of the summer of 1942, as well as its May preludes (2nd Kharkov offensive, Operation Trappenjagd) and also the Soviet winter counter-offensive (Operation Uranus) that ended with the encirclement of 6th Army in Stalingrad and the destruction of the axis minor armies. With many improvements including the PBEM++ system, this is a release to watch for wargamers!

Will artillery counter battery? I imagined when my art is in the front hex being attacked by bombard artillery mission they would normally counter fire? Does the game model this ?

Yes, not sure of the actual mechanics of it, but you will notice if your opponent has launched a major offensive, then on your next turn your local artillery will already have used up some of its stocks. Similarly when you attack with artillery you will notice you sometimes take artillery losses if the opponent has artillery units in situ ready to counter battery.

They are defending.. I do not see them do this when its ONLY a bombard mission.. likewise I do not see the art taking any hits when
I bombard the enemy art.. thanks

Go in to the combat details report (its a button in the combat report) to get exact information about what the enemy artillery guns are doing. Artillery does do counter artillery fire when bombarded. But maybe their stockpile is really low or they have some other problem why they are not effective.

best,
