Question:

What do we do with USN fighter squadron remnants whose command elements were destroyed when CVE's were sunk. They can't disband and they can't stand up to battle very well without a real CO.
"Withdraw" them. They'll go away-same deal as disbanding in these cases. Then buy 'em back so's they can return like a 'real' unit.

I take it back. They can't withdraw..only disband. The planes will be lost.

I think the best thing is let them get into a meat grinder and takes some LYB's with them.

Can't you disband them in a hex with like airframes (and nationality breakdown too) and transfer the airframes to the recipient?

No, I don't think you can do that with carrier groups for some reason.

You shouldn't lose the airframes if they are not damaged and (from memory) you've got >25,000 supply in the base.

I haven't disbanded an air unit in a long time, but I believe it may follow the same rules as air reinforcements/upgrades - i.e. if there is an Air HQ or the airfield is level 7, there is no loss of aircraft when you disband. The text by the disband button will be red if the aircraft are to be destroyed, normal colour if they will be saved for the pools.
IIRC, damaged airplanes disbanded to the pools will be delayed several days beyond the normal delay while the damage is repaired before they show up. [Is it legal to put that many prepositional phrases in one sentence?]

The little "ShortKeys" utility that we use in electronic medical record to convert short code strings to customized and more substantial text strings hasn't been working for 2 months.

Then we get an email today that the utility had to be "re imaged" and now everyone has to go sorting around through the virtual "H drive" to find their custom file. [8|]

I'm sorry, but that just seems like a gigantic CYA. "Re imaged"? What the Hell is that?

Somebody spilled their Red Bull on a server. I just know it.

In other news, an 11 1/2 year old boy who had already started puberty comes in with about a week's worth of pube stubble. I throw his dad out of the room.

FAM: Where did you get this idea to start shaving yourself?

11 1/2 year old: Penthouse Letters. <not even the least bit concerned. I might as well have asked what he had for breakfast>

FAM: Ah.

Turns out his older brother gave it to him. We didn't have that when I was a kid. We were lucky if the National Geographic had some native pics. I suggested to the dad that he might want to run a tighter ship.

No more need for Nat-Geo, or for Penthouse. I have 14 and 12 year old sons, and i spend half my evenings on our server blocking sites. I have had the talk about the evils of porn.... but damn they find some good sites. My biggest problem is the smell, they both stink to high heaven of musk, and now i need to teach them to shave. Being a father of teenagers sucks, and don't get started on our new 16 year old driver, she is scary as hell. I feel guilty for releasing her upon the motorists of NC.

[:D] Are they secreting musk or did they break into your deer hunting cabinet?[:D]

I switiched my daughter to Allstate after State Farm caught on to her.

Nice Allstate lady: OK, you're all set, top of the line coverage for the Kia will be $628....hmmmm.....who is "M******"?

FAM: That's my daughter.

Nice Allstate lady: Well, if you want to add her it would....kinda....be more.

FAM: Why don't you work that up for me, thanks.

Nice Allstate lady: Hmm...<hesitates...apparently thinking I will bite her head off> $1500 with same policy limits.

FAM: That's all? <starts laughing....I knew it was a bad poker face but I couldn't help myself>

Ramree airfield reacehd level 4 already. That rum stuff is fantatstic. JJ is bringing in reinforcements to Port Blair.

Some P-38's flew in to Impahl from Luzon. That had to be a hairy flight, eh?

No sign of the IJN BB's. Probably they know San Jose has SBD's now.

Have delayed the crusier bombardment of Clark for tonight as I realized the minefield at Lubang is a threat to our guys as well. They will move over toward Palawan and come in from that angle.

Heard from a Glaswegian comedian:

Look, I grew up on the East side of Glasgow. It's a tough place. You have to understand the life expectancy in Glasgow's East side in 55 years. It's 65 in Falloujah, Iraq. So you have people saving up so they can move to a war zone and extend their life span. [:D][:D]

I remember calling USAA when my son got his permit, she told me that there would be no change to my premium while he was still driving with the permit, but that once he actually got his license, it would have an 'impact' on my premiums. [;)]

USAA gave us the same bad news, maybe she won't ever be allowed to drive by herself.

Best part of our quote, was that me and my wife are considered lapsed drivers. We both drive company vehicles and haven't had insurance in 15+ years in our names. Not new drivers.... but "lapsed" drivers, which means we get a higher rate. It doesn't matter that we haven't had a point in that period, we are considered by the insurance as having not driven for that time. No points in 6 months will drop it though, of course 15 years of good luck is about to go south with every officer in the state looking to ticket us.

I am still wondering when the Empire guys are going to catch up there air frame production. I wonder if the production is there, but the training is lagging.

I didn't even pretend to have a poker face, i broke down in tears and watched my new boat dreams die.
