A strange find and not OT

Post by Footslogger »

Made in 1961, this movie was rated as good as Tora Tora Tora and Midway. But is there an english subtitle version and where do I go to get it?

According to IMDB, there is an English dubbed version and it is 29 minutes shorter than the Japanese version.

ORIGINAL: Footslogger

Made in 1961, this movie was rated as good as Tora Tora Tora and Midway.

Someone posted information about this movie several years ago here on this forum. It sparked my interest and I was able to finally track down a VHS copy of "I Bombed Pearl Harbor".

I must say it is very well done for the time period. However, the description of "as good as Tora Tora Tora and Midway" is because both of those two movies 'lifted' a whole lot of the action scenes from "I Bombed Pearl Harbor".

Also, several of the Japanese actors in this movie are also in TTT and Midway.

So overall, quite a good movie for 1961.

Ho Daddy!

I did a Netflix search and didn't find it.

I'd have to hire an actor to play me as a Japanese guy.

I'll be the subject matter expert. Maybe I could just write the part of the script where the Germans bomb Pearl Harbor. [:)]
