Recent AAR glossary

Post by rmonical »

Sadly, I cannot read every word of every post and am hoping kind folks will bring me up to speed on unfamiliar terms and concepts.

What is chaining? Does it still work in v27?

What was the fort nerf referenced in one of the AARs?

What is the AP Bug referred to in the Michael T-Pelton AAR circa 1943?

Here is a link to the HQ/AP bug that has stalled my game with Pelton. And is now affecting Pelton V Bobo.

tm.asp?m=3254415

Forts used to build at a faster rate. They have now been slowed down and there are now certain requirements before they reach certain levels.

I don't know much about chaining, never used it.

The only "chaining" MT does involves putting 100 lbs of it tightly around his opponents in ten feet of water. By the way, it doesn't matter what side his opponents choose.... the Soviets die quickly, the Germans slower, but more painfully. Bobo is going at it for the third time against MT as the Soviets. I hear Bobo has a blow torch. Problem is it doesn't work well under water. [:D][:D][:D]

I have come across references to 'chaining' and 'muling' - no clue what is meant, but apparently 'chaining' is/was some sort of technique (gamey?) that is/was very successful. Would like to know the answer to your question also.

My understanding of chaining is that it involves two HQBUPs, back to back on consequtive turns. The benefit of one HQBUP linked (chained) to another the following turn allows for a greater breech of a defensive line and subsequent isolation. In the past HQBUP's could be made 25 hexes from railheads and chaining was devestating.

late to comment, but shouldn't that be called a panzer attack-in-column ?? [:-], granted a HQBUP 25 hexs is a little too much

Muling does not work any more. Poeple have been using airfield bugs to keep panzers at 50 MP's turn after turn after turn.

3.0 tm.asp?m=3307918

2.0 tm.asp?m=3206706

1.0 tm.asp?m=3115416

MT found posted the issues and should not be looked on as a person using them.

He was nice enough to post info in tech area.

Thanks for the info
I feel like I have been robbed of my german victories [:(]
It is good they have been found and will be fixed and also the German Manpower issue.
I really like this game but it drives me crazy sometimes. happy I not the developers.
I wonder what issues are yet to found for the Soviets.

I thinks ist very late to say that, but is inetresting to read the forum, for news for a player like me who plays only from time to time.
