Turn 19

Overall
Since the port bombed last turn had repaired a little bit, and the bomb runs this turn only managed to get the damage up to last turns damage, AND we got alot of annoying held results in the LG sector, AND Blizzard is around the corner, Leningrad will not fall in this game either...
My FBGs are now desperately repairing railroads going west, and my panzers are not sent out this turn. Instead the first stacks are moving towards railroads and will soon ship west. Next turn the general retreat will most likely take place, and we will fall back untill we reach the "hey we do not freeze anymore"-line, and try for a good -42 instead (although the picture below makes me doubt it).
As usual the USSR attacks and pushes back a panzer stack, freeing alot of their trapped units. 6 USSR attacks results in 3 helds and 3 retreats, while our 34 attacks gives a result of 10 helds, 23 retreats and 1 surrender. I have NO idea why I keep trying hasty attacks, telling me that "hey, I do have a 4:1 ratio before battle. It will do", when I know that it will not...

Not sure if you think about the actual image or the song that goes with that peculiar instance [:D]
We shall see what I am able to do in -42, do or die for sure.

Turn 20 aka entering the boring phase

Overall
Weather is a mix of mud and winter, and the ground is starting to freeze (lvl 4 and 1) in the eastern most areas.
The USSR launched 3 attacks and scored 1 held and 2 retreats, opening a pocket as usual. We are railing more units back home, and shorten the frontline somewhat. The goal is to have all minors and panzers back before the blizzard hits, and then let the infantry fall back 3 hexes per turn. We do make 3 attacks this turn, and cause 1 retreat, 1 rout and 1 surrender. That is all.

Turn 21

Overall
We continue to ship panzers west. By now the line is held by nothing but infantry, so in that regard we are ready for winter to set in, but I prefer some more turns so that I am done shipping out the panzers before the winter starts.
The USSR launches 2 attacks scoring a retreat result on both.

Turn 23

Overall
We sent the map below to Führer-HQ to show how good care we are taking of his precious panzers. Most are now back west. Then we need to prepare to step backwards with the infantry as soon as the weather worsens. Losing less than 10 divisions will be acceptable, less than 7 will be good and less than 5 will be outstanding.
For once we outdid the USSR in success rate in our attacks as both our attacks resulted in a retreat while the USSR's 4 attacks gave 3 helds and 1 retreat. Rivers still "work", so not too surprised by the USSR held results.

Turn 24

Overall
The exodus continues, but we keep our infantry on the line. This is however the last turn as we enter December next turn. Apart from spending 300+ points on maximizing our generals, not much happens. The USSR launches 2 attacks and score 2 helds, while we launch 5 attacks and score 5 retreats.

Losses
USSR : 37.000 troops, 225 guns, 25 AFVs, 34 AC.
Axis : 18.000 troops, 74 guns, 12 AFVs, 13 AC.

Partisans
2 hunted down, 1 still on the map.

I think you should seriously consider keeping those minor mountain troops on the line and stack cities close to the front with panzers ?

Turn 25

Overall
Operation "I want my Mummy" begins, and all along (with one exception) the line we fall back 3 hexes. The USSR launched 1 attack this turn and scored a retreat. The goal now is to keep their number of attacks as low as possible and survive the winter more or less intact, and not look at the USSR OOB (6m...) as that will only make me depressed [:D]

Losses
USSR : 27.000 troops, 128 guns, 20 AFVs, 39 AC.
Axis : 19.000 troops, 62 guns, 11 AFVs, 10 AC.

Partisans
The one survivor from last turn is left on the map.

Turn 26

Overall
Our retreats last turn mostly worked out, as the USSR only managed 9 attacks, scoring 3 helds and 6 retreats, and we kept our losses minimal (some 2.800 troops to combat casualties). Sean has hinted that he had a few things he wanted to try during the blizzard, and one of them was revealed this turn (see below).

Losses
USSR : 81 troops, 0 guns, 0 AFVs, 0 AC.
Axis : 56.000 troops, 29 guns, 8 AFVs, 12 AC.
Riiiiight....

Partisans
We retreated into one pushing it away, one is still on the map.
